KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - AAA is projecting that nearly two million Tennesseans will travel for Thanksgiving.

According to AAA, 1.9 million Tennesseans are expected to travel at least 50 miles from home during the Thanksgiving holiday period, which runs from Tuesday, Nov. 25 to Monday, Dec. 1.

This marks a 1.9% increase over last year and sets a new record for Thanksgiving travel in the Volunteer State, AAA said.

Of those 1.9 million travelers, 1.8 million are set to travel by car, while 51,000 will travel by air and 22,000 will travel by other means, such as bus, train or cruise.
