A man attempted to attack two taxi drivers with a knife following a heated quarrel at Kempegowda International Airport late Sunday night, police said on Monday. He was overpowered by security personnel and arrested after a brief chase.
The accused, identified as Sohail Ahmed, has been arrested under the Arms Act and remanded to judicial custody. The incident occurred near the arrival lane of Terminal 1, where a video showed Ahmed running towards the taxi drivers while brandishing a long knife.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel deployed at the airport acted swiftly, intercepting and overpowering him before any harm could be caused. The weapon was immediately seized.
