A "major business announcement" will be made on Tuesday by the company that owns the Minnesota Wild.

Minnesota Sports & Entertainment – the Craig Leipold-owned parent company for the Minnesota Wild, Iowa Wild, and the 317 on Rice Park event center – is holding a press conference at 1 p.m. at the Grand Casino Arena, formerly the Xcel Energy Center.

Few other details were provided to the media, and there is little chatter about the potential subject of Tuesday's announcement.

Leipold has been in the news this year as he sought state funding to help with a $769 million revamp of the Wild's arena, which was then revised to just under $500 million.
