NEW DELHI: Dr Umar Un Nabi, the man behind the deadly Red Fort blast on November 10, had recorded a bone-chilling video in which he calmly discussed the concept of suicide bombing. During the investigation into the Delhi bombing, officers recovered an undated video showing Umar sitting alone in a room, speaking with disturbing ease about suicide attacks. He says that what is commonly described as a suicide bombing is, in his view, a “martyrdom operation”, a term he claims is known in Islam. In the video, Umar claims that what is commonly referred to as a suicide bombing is “not understood correctly.” He argues that many “contradictions and objections” have been raised against it, but insists that the act is a deliberate operation carried out by someone who believes they
