A MAN arrested after police uncovered a shortened gun and drugs inside a Tamworth house is set to dispute what the gun is, as well as how much drugs were seized.
Zac Wilkinson appeared in Tamworth Local Court via video link from prison on eight guns and drug offences.
The 29-year-old has been in custody since the Oxley Proactive Crime Team swooped on a Wahroonga Drive home in Hillvue on the morning of October 15.
Police allege Wilkinson was in possession of a shortened, unauthorised and unregistered gun, namely a black handled shortened rifle, between 9am and 10.25am. He's also accused of having a prohibited weapon, namely a knife, at the same time.
Wilkinson was also allegedly in possession of 27g of cannabis leaf, as well as a Buprenorphine strip - a type of opioid - as well as nine
