BOONE COUNTY, Ky. —

A man is dead and another person was taken to the hospital after a serious crash involving two dump trucks and a pickup truck near Union, Kentucky, on Monday.

The crash happened around 1 p.m., on U.S. 42 near Bleu Yacht Lane, just south of Union. Advertisement

The crash involved two dump trucks and a Chevrolet Silverado.

The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene. The Boone County Sheriff's Office identified that person as Hermon Lewis Estes, 75.

His granddaughter, Anastasia Jonas speaking said Hermon was born and raised in Northern Kentucky, and is a beloved grandfather and businessman.

"He was a family man, so sweet, so loving and caring," said Jonas, "I just really miss him right now."
