Thousands of Hoosiers may have forgotten they have retirement benefits they’ve earned through public service.
That’s why the Indiana Public Retirement System has launched a secure public database that all Hoosiers can search to identify a potentially forgotten pension benefit, defined contribution account, or account distribution from their Public Employees’ Retirement Fund or Teachers’ Retirement Fund.
The INPRS is also looking to reconnect 2,379 retirees, survivors, and beneficiaries with the funds previously issued to them but have not been utilized, often because of outdated address records. In some situations, benefit checks were delivered as intended but never deposited.
