There are reports that the top Naxalite leader Hidma has been killed. Two separate encounters are currently underway along the Chhattisgarh border. The first encounter took place on the Chhattisgarh–Andhra Pradesh border, where six Naxalites were killed.

Hidma is reported to be among the dead, and a photograph said to be of his body has also surfaced. However, there has been no official confirmation so far. Hidma’s wife was also reportedly killed in this encounter. The second encounter is ongoing in the Errabore police station area of Sukma district. Several Naxalites were injured in the firing that took place on the morning of 18 November. Security forces remain at the spot, and a search operation is in progress. 3 Naxalites were killed on November 16.
