AMARAVATI: Maoist commander Madvi Hidma (43), carrying a bounty of Rs 50 lakh on his head, was killed in an encounter in Alluri Sitharama Raju district of Andhra Pradesh. The encounter is still ongoing at the spot. Madvi's wife, Raje alias Rajaka, is also reportedly killed in the encounter. Six bodies have been recovered from the spot.

Madvi was the mastermind behind 26 attacks that shook the country. It is reported that Madvi played a major role in the 2010 Dantewada attack that killed 76 CRPF personnel and the 2013 Jhiram Ghati attack that killed 27 people, including top Congress leaders.
