Jammu, Nov 18: Five alleged drug peddlers, including a couple, were arrested with heroin and charas in separate operations across Jammu, Udhampur and Poonch districts on Tuesday, police said.
Amjad Khan alias Taiya and his wife Shamshad Akhter alias Putti were arrested from a suspected drug hotspot in Sakinderpur Kothey in Jammu’s Bishnah area, where police recovered 22.45 grams of heroin from them, a police spokesperson said.
In Udhampur, Manohar Lal of Paddar, Kishtwar, was intercepted during vehicle checking at Jakhani and found carrying 422.90 grams of charas while travelling on a motorcycle towards Jammu. Another accused, Sunil Kumar, was arrested at Tikri after police seized 472.27 grams of charas from his bag.
