Steinbach’s water tower is set for a full repaint in 2026 as the city works through a series of safety and structural upgrades. Manager of waterworks Mike Heppner says the repaint has been delayed in recent years due to ongoing issues with previous coating systems and concerns about worker access.

He says the tower has been through several attempts at repainting and stencil restoration since 2002, but the original coating has continued to cause problems.

"We're in the process of doing a recoat next year, in 2026."
