Council members in the Rural Municipality of Ritchot have expressed some highway safety concerns in the community of Ste. Agathe.

The local Councillor for that area, Joel Lemoine, brought up the issue with Ritchot's Fire Chief at a recent Council meeting. Lemoine says one of his concerns has to do with traffic along Provincial Road (PR) 305, crossing Highway 75.

"The stop signs that are at that corner going east/west, to cross the highway, it was just a suggestion, maybe get those larger stop signs with maybe a little red beacon, just to make sure," says Lemoine.

Because of the way Highway 75 angles at Ste. Agathe, Lemoine says you can be driving down PR 305, and not see a semi that is in your vehicle's blind spot. He says adding a flashing red light atop the stop signs would just be on
