The Principal Resident Magistrate Court in Lilongwe has adjourned the trial of 11 suspected Zikwange Gang members, including Bruno Munlo Makina and Eric Phakamisa, to 18th December 2025 to allow the defendants time to prepare their defense.
The suspects face six charges, including inciting violence and robbery with violence, linked to a violent demonstration led by Sylvester Namiwa at Lilongwe grounds.
The defense, led by lawyer George Kadzipatike, argued that the multiple charges made it difficult for the defendants to adequately prepare. Meanwhile, the prosecution stated they were ready to proceed, having presented three witnesses, including Namiwa, along with video evidence.
