Most of the leaves in Fort Collins are down for the season, and that signals it's almost time for a seasonal pause on yardwaste collection.
Soon, residents who are part of the city's waste hauling program with Republic Services will begin a four-month period where yardwaste won't be picked up.
Yardwaste is collected in the green bins and diverted from the landfill for composting. But it's only a seasonal service.
Here's what to know about when yardwaste collection is done for the season and how to make sure your leaves get taken away:
When will yardwaste collection be paused?
In 2025, the week of Nov. 24 is the last time Republic will empty bins until service resumes the week of March 30, 2026.
That means you have only one or two more weeks of yardwaste pickup, depending on what day
