WASHINGTON —
The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on Tuesday on a bill that would require the Justice Department to release all files and communications related to Jeffrey Epstein , who died by suicide in jail after being charged with sex trafficking in 2019 .
Last week, Congress released thousands of documents that offered a glimpse into Epstein's relationships, including with President Donald Trump.
Trump has indicated that he would sign the bill if it passes in the House and Senate, stating that the issue is distracting from his accomplishments.
"What I just don't want is for Epstein to detract from the great success of the Republican party," Trump said.
Trump is not being accused by Epstein's victims and has denied any wrongdoing in connection with the alleged
