Services affected include X as well as number of other web services.
Cloudflare described the problem as “widespread”.
“Cloudflare is aware of, and investigating an issue which impacts multiple customers,” the company said in an update, adding that its ‘dashboard’ and API services were “also failing”.
“We are working to understand the full impact and mitigate this problem.”
The outage comes several weeks after an outage at the world’s biggest online cloud provider, Amazon Web Services, knocked out thousands of websites and services due to problems with its Domain Name System (DNS) setup, which is used to map internet addresses. The AWS outage was not attributed to any type of hack or malicious intervention.
