BUFFALO, W.V. — Toyota Motor North America announced a $912 million investment across five U.S. manufacturing plants on Tuesday to expand its hybrid vehicle production capacity, with the Toyota West Virginia facility in Buffalo securing the largest single portion: $453 million and 80 new jobs.

The investment in the Buffalo plant is aimed squarely at boosting the assembly of key components for hybrid-electric vehicles, a segment of the market that Toyota says customers are increasingly embracing.
