CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Harrison Circuit Judge Joseph F. Shaffer imposed a one-year prison term on Tuesday for a 51-year-old Hepzibah sex offender who violated the terms of his child neglect supervised release.

Judge Shaffer sentenced Christopher Blair Ferrell, then warned him that a subsequent revocation, for violations such as viewing adult pornography or using drugs, would result in a much stiffer sentence. Shaffer said he believed one year was not enough for Ferrell's violations but added that he would comply with the recommendations of the state and defense attorney Matthew Hickman.
