Hugh Cornwell left the group in 1990 to focus on solo work, and 35 years and 10 albums later, he’s still making the music he loves.
The 76-year-old’s most recent album Moments of Madness was lauded as “a modern-day masterpiece” and the “most significant album of his illustrious career”.
Now he’s playing a show at Belfast’s Empire later this month.
“I’m really looking forward to coming to Belfast. I’ve been coming over for years now, and I can’t believe how much the city has changed,” Hugh said.
“I think Northern Ireland has had time to develop its own character. It’s such an artistic place.
“When I’m over, I always like to get out and have a look around, provided the weather isn’t too bad.
