Houston Astros star Jose Altuve underwent a minor procedure on his right foot on Monday and is expected to be ready by spring training, according to a report by MLB.com.

Altuve, who played both second base and left field last season, had fluid drained from an injury between two toes, the report said . He had been bothered by the injury during the final two weeks of the season.

The nine-time All-Star, set to play his 16th season with the Astros, hit .265 with 26 home runs and 77 RBIs last season.
