ATLANTA — Beau Broten has done more in 51 years than some others would dream of doing in a lifetime. Broten has been to the Daytona 500 and scores of basketball, football and baseball games. For him, the key to happiness is not what's seen but how it's seen.

"Blindness can happen in just a second, it could happen to anybody," Broten said. "I've been blind for 20 years."

While his sight faded, Broten's sense of fun, fashion and fandom for his beloved Atlanta Hawks only grew. When he's not at home, Broten can be found at State Farm Arena, his home away from home.

"I don't like to just come and sit home and have it quiet," Broten said. "I like to be doing stuff and keep my mind engaged. You got the energy there, and you can yell and scream as loud as you want. No one can say anything
