EAST LANSING – Now at his sixth school in as many years, Trey Fort’s shoes have squeaked on a lot of different floors.
The Michigan State transfer guard’s stops include JUCO and playing at NBA arenas but not the Mecca. That will change Tuesday night when the No. 17 Spartans (3-0) face No. 12 Kentucky (3-1) in the opening game of the Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York.
“This is my Christmas game for Madison Square so it’s going to be exciting,” Fort said after practice on Sunday. “It’s a really big game and I plan on contributing to my team coming out on top.”
There’s individual anticipation from newcomers and returners ahead of another early-season shot to see where the Spartans stack up against top competition. They already have a ranked win – 69-66 against Arkansas
