The Simpsons season 37 , episode 7, "Sashes to Sashes," features a scene at the First Church of Springfield, where Reverend Lovejoy is hosting a service. However, in the middle of it, organist Alice Glick dies.

Glick's death ties into the larger story of the episode, which sees Bart trying to run for student council president with Lisa as his campaign manager. During a memorial hosted by Principal Skinner, he says Alice left all her money to the school so they could open up a new music program, a core element of the episode's beginnings.
