Former Arizona lawmaker and Turning Point Action leader Austin Smith pleaded guilty on Nov. 17 to two counts of forging petition signatures he needed to run for office.
Smith, a 30-year-old, one-term Republican from Surprise, had centered his brief political career on false election-conspiracy ideas and frequently criticized election officials with baseless accusations of fraud.
