Rain fell across most of the metro Phoenix area early Nov. 18, with more scattered showers and storms possible later in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Drivers were contending with soggy driving conditions but not widespread standing water. Light rain began in the evening hours on Nov. 17. As of 8 a.m. Nov. 18, rainfall over the past six hours was generally 0.1 to 0.5 of an inch, with some higher totals in the West Valley, with about 1.25 inches reported, according to the Maricopa County Flood Control District. In northern Arizona, light showers began overnight and will continue on Nov. 18, primarily from a line extending from the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff and Payson west.
