CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Adams MultiMedia, a Minnesota-based company, is set to acquire The Cedar Rapids Gazette along with 11 community newspaper titles, according to a joint announcement made by the companies.

The deal, involving Tom Pientok of Folience, Inc. and Mark Adams of Adams MultiMedia (AMM), is expected to be finalized by December 1. This acquisition ensures The Gazette remains under the ownership of a family-held company, a tradition it has upheld for much of its 143-year history.

The Gazette, established in 1883, currently publishes a daily digital edition and a print edition three times a week.
