NEW ORLEANS — A boil water advisory is in effect for part of New Orleans East.
The Sewerage and Water Board issued a precautionary boil water advisory for a limited portion of New Orleans East due to a drop in water pressure on Tuesday morning.
The utility company said a water main break caused the drop in water pressure, and as a precaution, a boil water advisory was issued.
The impacted areas include:
Hayne Blvd from Lucerne St to Wave Dr
Wave Dr from Hayne Blvd to Morrison Rd
Morrison Rd from Wave Dr to Lucerne St
Lucerne St from Morrison Rd to Hayne Blvd
Water pressures in this area fell below 20 pounds per square inch (psi) due to a water main break at Curran Blvd and Lucerne St. Repairs are in progress.
Water pressure has been restored above 20 psi, and water quality sampler
