SOUTH FULTON, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Crews are investigating what caused an early morning house fire in South Fulton that left seven people without a place to live on Tuesday.
The fire broke out around 2 a.m. on Springfield Way in a subdivision off Campbellton Road SW and Stonewall Tell Road.
The two-story house sustained extensive damage, with charred siding visible from the outside. The majority of the damage appears to be in the attached garage. Smoke and water damage are expected throughout the house.
Firefighters remained on scene for several hours. Fire investigators are working to determine a cause.
The family says the American Red Cross is helping them with immediate needs like temporary housing. They say they believe the fire started in the garage.
No one was hurt.
