BRADENTON, Fla. ( WWSB ) - An assistant football coach at Bayshore High School has been arrested and charged with soliciting a student for sex, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said.
On Monday, Nov. 17, a parent of a 16-year-old student told deputies that Lagarius Spikes, 42, made sexually explicit comments to the student and solicited sex while in his office, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Spike allegedly also sent additional explicit text messages to the student.
The sheriff’s office said after reviewing information provided by the parent and student about the conservations and phone messages, including an audio-recorded conversation, Spikes was charged with soliciting sexual battery by an authority figure.
Spikes was arrested Tuesday morning at his home, the news
