MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A person of interest in a deadly shooting on Madison’s north side was taken into custody, Madison Police Department reported Tuesday.
MPD said detectives pinpointed a person of interest by interviewing witnesses and reviewing digital evidence.
Officers took the individual into custody Monday night near the Dane County Regional Airport after a traffic stop.
MPD said the person of interest is at the Dane County Jail on a Department of Corrections warrant.
Madison Police Department officers arrived after 2:45 p.m. Monday to the 2400 block of Brentwood Parkway and found a man who had been shot laying in the middle of the road.
Officials took him to a hospital, where he died. MPD PIO Stephanie Fryer said the victim was a man in his 20s.
