MERIDIAN — The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office is set to host its inaugural Sheriff’s Rodeo on November 21 and 22 at the Lauderdale County Agri-Center. The event, sanctioned by the Southeastern Professional Rodeo Association (SPRA) and the International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA), promises two nights of family-friendly entertainment.

Competitions will include bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping, breakaway roping, and barrel racing. For younger attendees, mutton busting and other activities will be available.

The rodeo will feature a $1,500 added purse per event, with entry fees set at $110. Performances begin at 7 p.m. each night, with additional slack events following the main performances. The rodeo will be held at
