DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (WAFB) - Troops with the Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a man dead on Monday, Nov. 17.

State police identified the victim as Jason Causey, 53, of Denham Springs.

The crash happened shortly after 6 p.m. on Highway 1025 near Somerset Lane in Livingston Parish.

According to LSP’s preliminary investigation, Causey was traveling west on Highway 1025 on a bicycle in a right-hand curve while a 2002 Dodge Ram was headed west.

For reasons still under investigation, troopers say the right side of the truck hit Causey.

State police said Causey was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The truck’s driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured, added state police.
