ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The first day of the state’s trial to oust St. Louis City Sheriff Alfred Montgomery was delayed Tuesday after he was unable to attend due to being in federal custody.

The trial was supposed to begin Tuesday morning, but as Judge Steven Ohmer took to the front of the court, he explained that he had concerns about the fairness of holding a trial without Montgomery being present.
