An injured leopard perished on Tuesday morning in the Barkheda area before forest officials could reach the scene, raising concerns over response delays, officials reported.

According to Divisional Forest Officer Bharat Kumar, the leopard was discovered dead upon the forest team's arrival, with injury marks hinting at a territorial dispute. A post-mortem is expected to reveal the exact cause of death.

Local police, informed by villagers of the sighting near Pipra Khas village, noted that a delay in medical intervention might have contributed to the leopard's demise. Efforts to determine the reasons for the forest team's delayed response are underway.
