Two of Point Park University’s chief priorities post-COVID have been to increase enrollment and play a key role in the revitalization of Downtown Pittsburgh.
On Tuesday, the private college announced a planned acquisition that aims to fulfill both goals.
The Downtown university has signed a letter of intent to purchase the former YWCA property on Wood Street — and is already eyeing the space for future student housing, a student union and retail space.
The acquisition will serve both campus and community needs, Point Park President Chris Brussalis told the Post-Gazette on Tuesday.
“It's not the prettiest building, so we're going to make it pretty and we're going to make it much larger,” Mr. Brussalis said. “It will really serve and satisfy the needs of our campus and also the community
