Edmonton’s top Crown prosecutor and a deputy are out of their jobs, with little explanation being offered either publicly or to their former colleagues.
Chief Crown prosecutor Scott Niblock and assistant chief Crown Ryan Abrams “are no longer with the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service,” ACPS confirmed in a statement to Postmedia last week.

ACPS did not elaborate on the circumstances of their departure, citing “private human resources information.” But a source with knowledge said the two were walked out of the prosecution service’s Edmonton office Thursday.
Attempts to reach Niblock and Abrams were unsuccessful.
