NEW YORK — Jaland Lowe will miss another game because of a lingering shoulder injury.

Expected to be Kentucky basketball 's starting point guard this season, Lowe won't play in tonight's Champions Classic matchup versus Michigan State at Madison Square Garden, according to CBS Sports senior writer Matt Norlander , who spoke with coach Mark Pope this morning.

Lowe reinjured his shoulder last week, one day before UK rolled to a 99-53 win over Eastern Illinois .

Following that victory, Pope said there would be "some discussions over the next couple days" about what's best for the junior, who hails from Texas.

Lowe first injured his shoulder Oct. 17 during the program's Blue-White game .
