A man in his 50s, riding a motorcycle, in the Willowfield Park area when he was struck by a grey Audi car on Sunday.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to leg and arm injuries.

The PSNI said: “When the collision occurred, a woman signalled for the driver to stop and put her hands on the bonnet.

"She was ‘clipped’ on the leg by the vehicle, no serious injury caused.

“The driver of the vehicle left the scene and a car matching the description of the one involved in the incident was located a short time later by officers.

"A man in his 20s was arrested and has been released on bail to allow for further enquiries to be completed.”

Police confirmed a link is being considered between the collision and an earlier verbal altercation in the Atlantic Road area of Coleraine near Burn Road.
