MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Memphis woman is facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder, in connection with the death of a 3-year-old boy.

Domnica Mosby, 29, has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated child neglect. The charges follow an incident on November 15, when police responded to a call just after 3 a.m. in the 4200 block of Beacon Hills Road, where the child’s father found 3-year-old Kevin Horton unresponsive. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mosby, identified as the father’s girlfriend, initially told police she had put the boy to bed after he was sick. However, she later confessed to homicide investigators that she had inflicted severe abuse on the child, including placing a lit cigarette in his ear and burning his geni
