The Age's View November 19, 2025 — 5.50am

Almost a year ago – or in Liberal parlance, two coups ago – The Age began an editorial just like this one with the following words: “A new year, a new leader. A new leader, a new leadership team. A new leadership team, a new frontbench soon to be announced. Welcome to the changing world of the Victorian Liberal Party.”

That was the introduction to this publication’s editorial of January 1, 2025.

And so the changing world of the Victorian Liberal Party leadership keeps spinning and the premise of the Groundhog Day film seems less far-fetched by the minute.
