The Washington Post Editorial Board is praising the Indiana Senate Republican leader's decision to decline to convene the Senate for mid-decade redistricting, the latest example of national political attention descending on Indiana over the issue.

President Pro Tempore Rodric Bray, R-Martinsville, has taken heat from Trump on social media after announcing the Senate won't meet because he doesn't have the votes to approve a new congressional map to further advantage Republicans ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. In October, Gov. Mike Braun had called on lawmakers to convene in order to discuss redistricting.
