Police in the Chicago suburbs are once again warning of a social media trend among teenagers called the "Door Kick Challenge," with one village reporting a slew of incidents and hundreds of dollars in damage.

The latest area to be hit by the dangerous challenge, authorities say, is Elk Grove Village.

"A social media trend called the “Door Kick Challenge” has been going on for a couple of years across the country," a Monday Facebook post from Elk Grove Village said . "Unfortunately, it’s now happening here in Elk Grove."

Police went on to say they've had at least eight incidents over the past month of "kids kicking the front doors of strangers homes."

Several of those incidents include arrests of the people involved, including two 13-year-olds who were taken into custody for allegedly
