Smoke rising from a fire engulfed a block of Chicago's West Englewood neighborhood Tuesday afternoon, video posted to social media showed.

Around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, fire officials were fighting a fire on the 5700 block of South Damen Avenue, video posted to Citizen App showed.

Neighbors gathered to watch as fire department officials fought the flames. At least two ladders were used by fire officials, video showed.

Chicago Fire Department and Chicago Police Department both did not immediately respond to NBC Chicago's inquiries.

No additional information was immediately available.
