Major vehicle manufacturer Honda is recalling hundreds of thousands of Honda Civics due to a faulty part that increases the risk of serious injury or death.

Honda issued a recall of more than 406,000 vehicles equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, as these wheels may detach while driving, increasing the risk of crash or injury.

“During normal vehicle operation, the seating surface may deform, which can cause the wheel nut to loosen and detach,” the recall states.

“This could result in the wheel separating from the vehicle.”

Vehicles included in the recall are select 2016-2021 Honda Civics.
