ASHEVILLE - Reems Creek Fire Department crews fully contained a 10-acre brush fire near the Blue Ridge Parkway in Weaverville on Nov. 17, the department announced.

Crews completed containment lines around the Ox Creek Fire, which ignited Nov. 16 near the parkway between Rattlesnake Lodge and Ox Creek. All visitors including hikers, cyclists, and those in vehicles were asked to leave the area.
