Saying that Democratic Sen. John Fetterman has “sold us out,” a progressive Pennsylvania group is vowing to support a primary challenge against him in 2028.

The Pennsylvania Working Families Party said in a statement released Tuesday it would begin to recruit “working class leaders into a candidate pipeline” and campaign volunteers for the Senate race and more and start fundraising for a primary challenge to Fetterman.

“At a time when Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are doing everything they can to make life harder for working people, we need real leaders in the Senate who are willing to fight for the working class,” said Shoshanna Israel, the mid-Atlantic political director for the Working Families Party, in the statement.
