Illinois residents will be able to show their drivers licenses and State IDs from their Apple Wallet.
Residents will be able to show ID in person, online, and in apps at certain businesses and organizations, including most airports.
Getting asked to show ID at the airport? Or at a bar? Now, Illinois residents will be able to show their drivers licenses and State IDs from their Apple Wallet.
More specifically, Illinoisans can do so starting Nov. 19, thanks to the Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias' initiative that allows residents to show ID from an iPhone or Apple Watch.
"This launch brings together security, privacy, and convenience in a way that will make life easier for millions of people," Giannoulias wrote in a statement.
