Loveland has experienced an unseasonably warm autumn, with temperatures higher than usual around this time of year and still no sight of snow.

It’s been 214 days since snow fell on Loveland, the last time being a half inch fall on April 18, according to Chris Knoetgen, a weather spotter for the National Weather Service.

“This is not typical going this far into November without snow,” he wrote in an email, adding that the average first snowfall in the area comes on Oct. 18.

Possible snow showers are forecast for later this week, but Loveland has surpassed the latest first snowfall in the last five years. The closest contender was a particularly warm and dry fall in 2021, in which the first light dusting fell on Nov. 17.
