The Kent City football program has put together a historic 2025 season thanks to a powerful rushing attack and a disciplined defense.

The Eagles leaned on those principles last week in a 50-20 home win over Montrose that secured the school’s first-ever regional championship.

This week, Kent City (12-0) faces a like-minded opponent in Kingsley (10-2) as the two teams square off in the Division 6 state semifinals at noon Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cadillac.

“They run a lot of similar plays as us, but they probably throw the ball a little bit more,” said Kent City head coach Zach Gropp on his initial impressions of Kingsley. “It seems like they throw a little bit more than Belding did.
