FLINT, MI – Kevelin Jones II looked quizzically at those lined up outside the new library and media center at Holmes STEM Middle School Academy.
The Flint Community Schools Superintendent was there to perform a ribbon cutting for the facility on Tuesday, Nov. 18, but it was the surprise awaiting him inside the facility that drew some tears from him.
Holmes Principal Donnetta Moore led Jones over to a yet-unveiled plaque and then made the reveal for the newly named Kevelin B. Jones II Video Broadcasting Center.
“Dedicated to a leader whose passion for learning and communication gave students the confidence to share their stories with the world,” the plaque reads. “Empowering students to be seen, heard, and inspired.”
